Bromley Friends of the Earth is one of the oldest local groups in the network - started in 1972 - and we campaign on most environmental issues. We have a wonderful core group of enthusiastic campaigners but are always ready to welcome new faces and new ideas. The biodiversity within our borough is wide ranging and we campaign vigorously to uphold it, as well as supporting campaigns nationally and internationally.
Being a fairly large group lets us campaign on most issues. We care about nature, the climate, how we use our planet’s resources, and how we dispose of them. We hold days of action, stalls, give talks to interested groups and schools, publish a monthly newsletter, and hold a public meeting each month. We also arrange outings for members, fundraise, and create information leaflets.
Our monthly meetings are held at the Friends Meeting House, 46 Ravensbourne Road, Bromley BR1 1HP on the first Tuesday of each month, from 7.30 pm - 10.00 pm. We cover varying topics, very often with a speaker for the first half. There’s time for a tea break and a chat and then we return to catch up on campaign news. The meetings are always open to non-members.
