Friends of the Earth Cheltenham, Transition Town Cheltenham, and Global Footsteps joined forces to mark Climate Week and Fairtrade fortnight, with a cake competition.
Three classes of cake could be entered, the least travelled cake, the most fairtrade cake and the best cake decoration depicting climate change.
The competition took place on Saturday 8th March. The winning least travelled cake was made with ingredients almost entirely from within Gloucestershire, and the best decoration on the theme of climate change was that of a flooded house. The judges awarded prizes including a radiator panel donated by Transition Town, a voucher for Global Footsteps and a years membership of Friends of the Earth. Well done to all competitors and especially the winners.
The event was advertised on Radio Gloucestershire on the morning of the competition and you can listen to the programme by following this link.
