We’re a diverse, enthusiastic team, and welcome anyone who’d like to join our group and put positive energy into campaigning for a better world. The group has run continuously since 1981 with many successful campaigns behind us, for example doorstep paper recycling using a milk float - well before the government dreamt of such a thing! The most pressing issue in 2019 is the climate emergency but we also campaign on other issues, listed below.
The climate emergency: it’s so important to raise the profile of this critical issue and to get the government to take it seriously.
Divestment: we’ve persuaded our council to divest its pension fund from fossil fuels.
Air pollution: this campaign links in with our climate campaign, and is vital for our health, especially in our built-up environment.
Heathrow expansion: we continue to oppose it, above all for the impact on climate.
Plastic pollution: we’re working together with our council on this.
Bees, nature and biodiversity: we continue to work on this, as we’re losing our pollinators and other insects.
We meet in King Street in central Hammersmith at 7.15 pm on the second Tuesday of every month. Get in touch below to check the exact venue for the next meeting and please come along! We also organise stalls and other events to promote our campaigns.
