When and Where

THIS WILL BE CHANGING NEXT YEAR! PLEASE KEEP CHECKING TO GET UP TO DATE INFO.

We meet on the first Tuesday of every month - at Vintage Cafe, 209 Chanterlands Avenue, Hull, HU5 3TS

We meet from 7:00pm, so we can have a chat and a coffee before the meeting starts at 7.30pm. We finish promptly at 9pm.

About this Group

We are one of the longest running groups in the UK. Started in the early 70's, we have been campaigning now for over 40 years!

We produce a quarterly newsletter which can be read in print, online or both. See Hull ECO online.

We have a Green Fair every year, which allows us to bring together all the wonderful environmental charities, businesses, groups, craftspeople and generally anything green in our region. This helps us to strengthen our bonds and raise awareness.

Previous successful local campaigns we have been involved in:

The Saltend Incinerator - working with Hull and Holderness Oppose the Incinerator (HOTI) 2009

GM Potatoes in Hedon - we helped form a small group to tackle plans to trial GM in our area 2007

And projects:

CARGO - We ran a garden waste collection scheme from 2003 til 2007. The aim of which was to get Hull City Council to start up its own garden waste collection scheme. It worked!

What Happens to our Waste?

Officers from Hull City Council - Liz Smith and Matt Broadhead will be attending our next meeting on Tuesday 4th December to answer our questions about our waste. This is a good opportunity to see what the council's policies are particularly on plastics and where does the food waste go. Meeting will start at 7pm prompt at Vintage Cafe.
