Everything we do at Northants Friends of the Earth is working towards:
- There is a tomorrow – living within the limits of the natural world.
- Equity for all – everyone is entitled to a good life and a fair deal.
- System change – getting the economy and the government to work with people and the environment.
We campaign on oceans, climate breakdown and plastics. We've joined school marches in Northampton and taken part in activities with Extinction Rebellion.
Most towns in Northamptonshire have areas that exceed EU limits for air pollution. So we've been petitioning the government for clean air zones and the faster phase out of diesel cars.
We're also campaigning against the proposed rail-freight terminals near Collingtree, Blisworth, and Milton Malsor. 70 football pitches-worth of land are being applied for in these areas. Sufficient capacity already exists, so we're campaigning to stop the destruction of precious local biodiversity that construction will cause.
We get out and about to festivals, events and stalls around the town – having fun as well as getting important messages across.
If you would like to know more about our values and what we get up to then get in touch. You can use the contact form below. We usually meet whenever we need to, but do some kind of action about once a month.
