Clean Air Campaign and Freshwater Watch.

North Wilts FoE are about to start on two projects that will monitor both air and water quality levels in the area.

As part of the Friends of the Earth national Clean Air Campaign we will be setting up 'testing sites' in both Chippenham and Calne, but will also be involved with the Freshwater Watch water monitoring initiative.

Marden Valley Video Now On YouTube.

Following our recent Marden Valley Awareness Walk we have now produced a photo-video that captures some of the flavour of this beautiful area.

It's our first attempt at producing something like this, but if it's well received we may well do some more.

Marden Valley Awareness Walk Success.

Despite a little drizzle the Marden Valley Awareness Walk went well, with several new contacts made with potential partners for our future plans. 

The 2.2 mile walk included a detailed look at the site of Stanley Abbey, and also included the history of Pewsham Forest, Calne railway, and the Wilts & Berks Canal.

Young North Wilts Friends of the Earth successfully launched!

Young North Wilts Friends of the Earth has now been successfully launched, following a very positive first meeting on Tuesday evening.

Those attending had arrived from Melksham, Chippenham and Calne to register their interest in the new group, that welcomes new members between the ages of 18  and 30.

Hardenhuish School pupils help with Charlotte's Wood Project.

As part of their Activity Week, we were delighted to host staff and pupils from Hardenhuish School, Chippenham to Charlotte's Wood, near Sevington on Tuesday, to help with the ongoing maintenance of our very own woodland project. Started in February 2011, the site is really now beginning to feel like a proper woodland.
