About Us

When and Where

We have recently changed when and where we meet. We now meet on the THIRD Wednesday of every month (except July and sometimes the December date may move). We now meet at 8pm in a private room at the front of the Seven Stars, 40 Albert Square, Rugby CV21 2SH. Everyone is welcome. These business meetings last for up to about two hours with a break for a chat in the middle and afterwards discussion usually carries on in the pub.

In the place of the July meeting we have a 'Summer Social', details of which vary from year to year. We hold our local group AGM on the 3rd Wednesday in November.

We're always keen for new people to get involved, so please contact us if you'd like to join us. If you can't make it to a business meeting, we also meet on the first Wednesday of each month (the January date may move) at about 9.30pm at The Alexandra Arms, James Street, Rugby; or pop into Dave's Wholefood Shop in the Regent Rooms, Regent Place, Rugby CV21 2PJ during the day on a Thursday and ask for us there: the profit from some of his goods has helped to support our group.

In December we have a Christmas meal.

What does our group do?

We have close links with other Friends of the Earth groups in Coventry & Warwickshire and throughout the Midlands. The Warwickshire groups share a stall at festivals such as the Leamington Peace Festival and the Godiva Festival and we are also supporting the group in Coventry in their fight against the proposed new incinerator.

We have actively campaigned on the Airport plans, GM foods, Climate Change and in support of the plans for Windfarms nearby.

We usually support, participate in and have stalls at local village fetes and summer fayres such as Newton, Stretton-on-Dunsmore, Clifton, Bilton and Art in the Park and other events in Caldecott Park.

What's going on?

See our diary of events for details of all forthcoming meetings and other events and please contact the campaigner organising any events with which you might be able to help.
