About Us

About this Group

We are a friendly group of people working for the environment and the communities of Test Valley Borough. We campaign for sustainable solutions to environmental issues such as climate change, Fracking, air pollution, reducing plastic use, the Bee Cause, waste, recycling, transport, housing and nature conservation. Currently the group covers the whole Test Valley Area (including the main towns of Romsey and Andover).

When and Where

We meet about four times a year rotating between Romsey, Andover and Stockbridge. Non members are welcome to come to meetings and help with campaigns although we would encourage supporters to become a member if they can - it's only £5.00 + concessions.

  • The next meeting of Test Valley Friends of the Earth will be on Saturday 23 March 2019, 10.30am in the Grosvenor Hotel, Stockbridge - all welcome.

If you haven't been before, we are always keen to welcome new people to help out with stalls and campaigns or simply just coming along for interest. PLEASE DO JOIN US. - you dont have to be a member! - Lifts can be arranged from Romsey and Andover so do contact us if you would like one: [email protected]

In the meantime do keep in contact by email or ask to go on our mailing list.  [email protected]

The Electric Car / Clean Air event with Transition Town Romsey on the 29th June 2018 - was a fantastic success! Over 15 owners of various electric cars came along and enthusiastically answered questions from the many interested people who came along.  We also had a really eye opening talk by Matt Loxam (Senior Research Fellow at Southampton University) about the dangers of diesel exhaust. Please see the 'News' item below for more pictures and a copy of the presentation.

Drive Electric - a 'Sparkling' success!

Crosfield Hall last Friday was the scene for numerous EV owners to display their cars and talk about the experience of driving them.

Examples of EV brands such as Zoe, Leaf, Ampera, Outlander, Soul, Tesla S, BMWi3,and  Ioniq were parked with their bonnets up and charging points exposed. Members of the public could wander around to look and chat to the owners.
