Our group covers the Torfaen County Borough Council area. We promote self-help ideas to enable individuals and communities to safeguard their environment. We actively network with other local groups and are currently working as stakeholders in consultation for the new Local Development Plan for 2021. Local residents actively seek our help on planning applications where environmental implications are of concern.
We campaign on national and global issues such divestment, fossil fuels, and plastics, as well as bees, air pollution, and trees. Locally our main campaigns are around planning issues with environmental implications and the general use of glyphosate. In the past we've campaigned against the M4 relief road around Newport, which the Welsh government has now turned down, and campaigned to have a Pollinator Action Plan agreed by Torfaen County Borough Council.
We meet on the first Wednesday of every month (bar August) at Greenmeadow Golf & Country Club, Treherbert Rd, Croesyceiliog Cwmbran, NP44 2BZ. Meetings begin at 7 pm. We have an annual membership fee of £5 - £10. Please note that we're a group of self-funded volunteers! Get in touch using the contact form below or through the Facebook and Twitter icons above.
