Tottenham & Wood Green Friends of the Earth is an active environmental campaign group. We take action on a range of local, national and international issues including climate change, fossil fuel use, renewable energy, sustainable transport, plastic, biodiversity, and waste. We work with other environmental groups in Haringey and are part of Sustainable Haringey and the Haringey Climate Forum.
We’ve persuaded Haringey Council to adopt plans to cut carbon emissions and reduce single-use plastic, and to start reducing its pension fund investments in fossil fuels. We’ve campaigned for more action on air pollution, for action on single-use plastics, and to save wildlife sites in the area.
We hold monthly meetings, organise street stalls, protests, and petitions, respond to policy consultations, and meet with politicians.
Due to the Covid pandemic we are meeting online. Our next meeting will be Wednesday 10 February at 7 pm. Contact us using the form below and we will send you a Zoom link to the meeting.
We’re always happy to welcome new people to the group – campaigning takes many forms and there’s a place for everyone, whether you want to talk to members of the public and politicians, write blog posts, or help with the quiet organising jobs behind the scenes.
If you’re unable to come to meetings, but would like to find out more or help with a campaign, please contact us using the form below.
