When and Where
We usually meet one weekday evening per month, from 7.30 pm onwards.
Our regular venue is The Eight Bells public house, Fore Street, Hatfield, AL9 5AH
But for some events we move to specialist venues (e.g. for talks and film showings), so please check before turning up! New members welcome at all meetings.
About this Group
Welwyn Hatfield Friends of the Earth started life more than twenty years ago as a small group covering the North Mymms area. Today we have members from Welwyn, WGC, Hatfield, Hertford, Potters Bar, and beyond. We are also part of the Hertfordshire Friends of the Earth network.
We are a fairly active group. We meet at least once per month to plan campaign strategies, share information, and generally be social. You’ll see us out and about campaigning on street stalls and at fetes and festivals. You’re also likely to see articles about us in the local media, as we’re quite vocal about our opinions, and quite fond of staging fun publicity stunts for our campaigns.
We’re a friendly group, made up of members ranging in age from their twenties to their seventies. Membership is free, and you don’t have to know anything about environmental issues to join – we’ll help you to learn. We’re always looking for new people to help us with our campaigning, admin, fundraising etc., no prior experience necessary. We'd love to hear from you, so please do get in touch!
