About Us

West Cornwall Friends of the Earth are based in and around the Penzance area. To date we have worked on a  range of campaigns including Run on Sun, the Bee Cause and marine issues - including the successful designation of Marine Conservation Zones at Land's End and Mounts Bay.

In addition to supporting national FOE campaigns we continue to run a marine campaign, with a range of events and actions on a local level to help protect and enhance our marine environment for the benefit of local wildlife and local people.

As part of this campaign we are have adopted Sandy Cove beach in Newlyn, and carry out a regular programme of beach cleans and marine litter surveys throughout the year.

We also run talks and events (including free 'pop up cinema' nights) on subjects such as renewable energy, climate change and nuclear energy and are always open to new ideas and suggestions!

We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at The Dolphin Inn in Penzance at 7:30pm and our meetings are open to everyone - whether you are a member or simply want to find out more about who we are and what we do.

We are always looking for new members and supporters so please do get in touch if you would like to join us!
