Join West Cornwall Friends of the Earth for a talk by the author, Dr Kate Rawles, talking about her book 'The Carbon Cycle' - shortlisted for Banff Mountain Festival Adventure Travel Book Awards, 2012
The Carbon Cycle; Crossing the Great Divide (Two Ravens Press 2012) is based on Kate's bike ride from Texas to Alaska exploring attitudes to climate change, was shortlisted for the Banff Mountain Festival Adventure Travel Book Awards and a runner up in the UK People's Book Prize.
Kate Rawles will also talk about her passion for 'Adventure Plus' - using adventurous journeys to raise awareness and inspire action on major environmental issues. The main focus will be her bike ride from Texas to Alaska, following the spine of the Andes and exploring N.American responses to climate change. She will also share plans for a forthcoming trip, The Life Cycle: Costa Rica to Cape Horn, exploring biodiversity: what it is, what's happening to it, why that matters and above all what can be done to protect it.
