Accessibility and diversity

We want Basecamp to be an event that welcomes everyone wanting to take action on environmental issues.

We have a group of staff and volunteers working as a diversity and accessibility group to ensure that we make the event comfortable, enjoyable and a safe space for all.

Our plans

Although Basecamp has an outdoor element we are working with our suppliers to make sure that all the tents and marquees where we hold sessions are fully accessible. This includes creating weather proof walkways between the spaces at the site. The indoor workshop rooms are also fully accessible.

We also provide a range of accommodation to suit people's needs, including fully accessible rooms at the hostel and a free place for carers attending the event.

We will conduct an access audit of the site when everything is set up and will provide opportunities for all participants to feed in ideas for any improvements during Basecamp.
