South West

What does Friends of the Earth do in South West England?

We're lucky to live and work in one of the most beautiful and nature-rich parts of England. We have abundant resources and thriving green industries.

This year, 2015, Bristol becomes the first UK city to be European Green Capital.

But we are also highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, with flooding and coastal storms taking a toll on many of our communities.

I’m Mike Birkin. I've lived most of my adult life in South West England - and most of that time I've worked for Friends of the Earth. I’m based in Bristol now as Regional Campaigner. I’m never short of things to do, but working to defend nature and support green energy are the most important things to me right now.

Please get in touch to let me know how Friends of the Earth can work with you.
