We bring the campaigns of Friends of the Earth to Herefordshire - thinking globally and acting locally. These include local action on climate change, healthy food in harmony with nature, a fairer transport system and cost-effective alternatives to new road building, and waste management (including action on single-use plastic). We try to influence our council and MPs to have policies which make environmental and social sense. We believe Herefordshire has the potential to develop sustainably in a way that protects and restores the natural environment, while increasing fairness and quality of life for all, and we work to achieve this.
We support and are actively involved with other environmental and social action groups in Herefordshire, mostly under the umbrella of the Herefordshire Green Network. This organisation provides a forum for a very productive exchange of ideas, enabling the network’s 40+ groups to engage easily in a variety of joint activities.
For example, Herefordshire Friends of the Earth has financed leaflets and posters for some very successful Extinction Rebellion events in the county and will continue to do so as much as possible.
If you want to get involved, we’re eager to meet people who’d be interested in joining us in our work. We’ve stopped having regular Friends of the Earth meetings, but usually attend most of the green conversation evenings or similar events at De Koffie Pot, Left Bank, Hereford. Dates for these events can be found on the Herefordshire Green Network.
