Glastonbury Friends of the Earth

Glastonbury Friends of the Earth campaigns for protection of the environment in a variety of ways to make a difference locally, nationally, and globally.

Our campaigns

We've held a fundraiser to support the work of the Preston New Road anti-fracking campaign. We've asked Mendip District Council to implement a pollinator corridor strategy which has now been approved. We've raised funds to pay for a volunteer co-ordinator to organise the weeding of Glastonbury Tor, negating the need for glyphosate weedkiller. We've raised the profile of the town's Refill Scheme to reduce single-use plastic bottle usage. We lobby our local MP for renewable energy support and also give presentations to local schools or other groups who are interested.

Get involved

We meet monthly and also link up with other local environmental campaign groups for fun activities, 'Films of the Earth' screenings, social recreation, serious activism, and much more! For information visit our Facebook page (above) or email us at [email protected]. You can also use the contact form below. New members are always welcome and it's easy to get involved with our friendly group or help out on our Friends of the Earth stall at local markets and events.
