Our local action groups
Friends of the Earth England, Wales and Northern Ireland has local action groups, and affiliated groups, in over 200 neighbourhoods. That makes us the largest grassroots environmental campaigning community in the UK.
These groups are the local solution to the global climate crisis. They're made up of volunteers from all types of backgrounds, people just like you. From taking a stand on local issues, to supporting national campaigns and communities around the world, these groups take the urgent action we need.
Find a group near you, or start your own and we'll help you every step of the way.

News from the network
What about Friends of the Earth Scotland?
Friends of the Earth Scotland was launched in 1978.
It campaigns independently from Friends of the Earth England, Wales and Northern Ireland. But we're both members of the same environmental community. And we're both campaigning for a world where everyone can enjoy a healthy environment without exceeding their fair share of the planet’s resources.

Young Friends of the Earth
Young Friends of the Earth connects and supports youth-led action on the climate and nature crises and is rooted in justice and community power. We provide funding, training and platforms for marginalised young people to build a fairer future.
The network is a space for working-class, racialised, disabled and/ or neurodivergent young people (aged 16 - 30) to organise for climate justice across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Young Friends of the Earth takes action on local, national and international issues.
