We know that when you choose to work for us, it's more than just a job

Friends of the Earth is an international community dedicated to protecting the natural world and the wellbeing of everyone in it. We lead campaigns, raise awareness and drive solutions to the environmental problems facing us all.

Connecting more than 2 million people in 75 countries, we're transforming the efforts of communities all over the world into global action for change.

How to apply

At Friends of the Earth we welcome applications from as diverse a group as possible. We’re looking for people who are passionate about the environment and who can demonstrate that they have the skills we need.

We ask applicants to complete our online form. You can save your form via our online portal and go back to it before submitting your application.

When applying for any role, you should refer to the job description and person specification in your application. The best way to do this is to tell us how you meet each essential criterion in the person specification, and to try to link it to some of the main responsibilities listed. This'll make it easier for the hiring manager to see how you fit the role.

Note for Grammarly users: our application system has an issue where it appears to show your text with apostrophes missing. However, please be assured the saved application form will save your text correctly.

If you have any queries or issues with applying, please email us at [email protected]

Diversity and equal opportunities

Friends of the Earth is an equal opportunities employer. We’re especially keen to encourage applications from people currently under-represented in the environment movement.

  • Our staff body is currently under-representative of people of colour, LGBTQIA+ people and people with long-term conditions or impairments.

  • We're committed to eroding these historic barriers, so as to create a movement in which people from all walks of life see themselves. We therefore particularly encourage you to apply if you belong to one of these groups or sit at multiple intersections of disadvantage.

  • We're committed to the Disability Confident standard and will guarantee an interview to any candidates who declare a disability and who meet the essential criteria for the role.
