Friends of the Earth urges greater efficiency and more renewables

1 minCommenting on a new report from the University of Manchester on the environmental impact of microwaves, Friends of the Earth senior climate campaigner Simon Bullock said:
“This report highlights the urgent need for microwaves and other household appliances to be used as efficiently as possible. This will save people cash and help ensure that we can cook meals without roasting the planet.
“It’s also crucial that ministers act to make more of our electricity come from renewable sources – and this means ending government policies that discourage investment in wind and solar.”
