We're in a climate crisis. We need urgent action

Climate change is affecting us all. Millions of the world's poorest people suffer already despite having contributed least to the problem, while our younger generations face living in a dangerous and uncertain world.

Extreme weather is becoming more frequent. With flash floods washing away homes, and wildfires burning through communities. In the UK, we're becoming more vulnerable to storms and we've been left unprepared by our leaders leaving us unable to properly protect ourselves.

Addressing the escalating climate crisis it's just important: it's a matter of life or death. Crucially, there's still an opportunity to change our future - if we act now.

The UK government needs to get it right

We can help stop climate change by pressuring the UK government to:

Cut carbon emissions
Keep their promises to cut carbon emissions by developing credible policies, created with experts and the public. Working towards its target to reduce emissions by 68% by 2030.

Investment in climate action at all levels
By giving all local and combined authorities help and deliver the UK’s commitment to pay £11.6 billion in climate finance to poorer countries, while raising taxes on wealthy polluters.

Warm homes powered by cheap and clean energy
Ensure everyone can live in a warm home powered by cheap, clean energy. This includes kickstarting a national insulation programme to insulate 7.5 million homes across the UK.

Affordable transport and clean air
Deliver affordable, reliable public transport and clean air. Including increasing bus and rail passenger kilometres with more funding to reduce car miles by at least 20% by 2030.

Investment in green jobs
Help people find well-paid green jobs by providing investment and training, especially for sectors and places most at risk of being left behind.
