Supporter Panel: terms and conditions
The following information goes into extra detail about what it means to be a member of our online Supporter Panel.
By signing up to join our panel, you’re agreeing to the terms and conditions below.
- You must be over 18 years of age to join and participate in the online Supporter Panel.
- The panel is FREE to join. You can decide to leave the panel at any time. This is not a contracted membership.
- Friends of the Earth owns the surveys, polls, forums and the website.
- You will need to have internet access to take part in any task we email you. Our activities will benefit from a stable Wi-Fi connection when completing.

Accuracy of information:
Friends of the Earth reserves the right to invalidate any surveys or panel activities that are illegible, unfinished or unsuitable.
Rewards:
The panel is a voluntary service and Friends of the Earth is grateful for your support. In addition, we may choose to offer you non-financial rewards for completing our surveys.
Other:
Friends of the Earth reserves the right to change, add or remove parts of these terms and conditions at any time. If any material changes are made, Friends of the Earth will notify you either here or by email.
These terms and conditions are governed by English law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Panel conditions:
To join our online Supporter Panel you must complete and submit the registration survey by clicking on "Sign up" then completing the survey. After finishing the registration survey you will return to our website home page.
By registering to join the Supporter Panel you confirm you’ve read and accepted the terms and conditions listed on this page.
Unsubscribe:
If you decide you no longer wish to be panel member anymore, you can unsubscribe simply by completing this unsubscribe form.
Confidentiality:
Any information you provide, either in the registration survey or in subsequent surveys, is confidential and will not be shared with any third parties. Your information will NEVER be sold to any marketing companies. Your information will be stored securely at Friends of the Earth and only accessed by dedicated staff.
Privacy policy:
Our privacy policy sets out how we process any personal data we collect from you, or you provide to us. By joining the Supporter Panel, you consent to such processing and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate.
Email surveys from Friends of the Earth:
After joining our Supporter Panel, we’ll send you regular tasks to complete. The tasks will be sent via email and will be surveys consisting of 5-10 questions. The questions will be a mixture of multiple-choice answers, free text responses and image selections.
We’ll aim to send you no more than one survey each month. You’re under no obligation to complete the surveys. Each survey can be completed up to 7 days from the date of receiving the email in your inbox.

You can unsubscribe from the Supporter Panel at any time by visiting our FAQs and following the instructions.
Values and ethics:
Panel members must conduct themselves in a suitable manner when providing feedback, sharing information and answering our questions.
Friends of the Earth won’t tolerate:
- The communication of material that is sexually explicit, immoral, dishonest, racist, or of an illegal nature.
- The transmission in any form of a programme or file which is capable of interrupting, destroying, or limiting the capabilities of the website, server, connected networks or other users' computers.
- The transmission of content for commercial reasons, including any advertising or promotional materials.
- Attempts to register more than one account per person.
1. Requirements for joining our panel
1.1. To join the Supporter Panel you must be aged 18 or over.
1.2. You can only join our panel once. You can only join using one email address.
1.3. We reserve the right to remove you from our panel if you breach these terms and conditions.
1.4. Once on the panel, you’ll get email invitations to participate in online surveys.
1.5. Your participation is voluntary. If you choose to stop receiving emails you’ll be removed from our panel email lists.
1.6. You can leave the panel at any time. You can leave by visiting this website and clicking unsubscribe or by using the link found in the footer of our emails.
1.7. Our panel operates for the purpose of legitimate market research and all activities are administered in accordance with the Market Research Society Code of Conduct. Your personal data and the data you share on our surveys will NEVER be used to sell or market products to you.

2. Protection of our panel
2.1. You may not store the panel content on a server (or any other device connected to a network), copy, reproduce, republish, download, post, broadcast, transmit, make available to the public or otherwise use the content of our panel in any way except for your own personal non-commercial, lawful and moral use.
2.2. All information contained in any documentation or revealed in discussions as part of our panel constitutes confidential information and must not be disclosed by you externally outside of our panel.
2.3. All designs, graphics, photographic images, material (including any copies or arrangements), and all software, underlying source code and all other material on our panel is protected by copyright.
2.4. You must only use our panel for lawful purposes and in way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict or inhibit anyone else’s use and enjoyment of our panel.
2.5. We have the right to remove any content, posts or material from our panel which breaches the standards described in these terms and conditions.
2.6. You must not misuse our panel by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our panel, the server on which our panel is stored or any server, computer or database connected to the website. You must not attack our panel via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack. Doing so is a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and we will co-operate with relevant law enforcement agencies by disclosing your identity to them.
3. Your privacy
3.1. We understand the trust that our supporters place in us when sharing their data, and we’ll always do our utmost to respect that trust and protect their personal information.
3.2 We process information about you in accordance with data protection legislation as described in our privacy policy. We strongly advise that you read our privacy policy; by using our site, you consent to such processing.
3.2. When agreeing to join our panel you must treat your personal information with confidentiality at all times. Don’t disclose it to any third party.
3.3. You also have a personal responsibility to protect your privacy.
4. Changes to terms and conditions
4.1. We may revise our terms of use at any time by amending this page. You’re expected to check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes we made, as they’re binding on you. Some of the provisions contained in these terms of use may also be superseded by provisions or notices published elsewhere on the Supporter Panel.
