1 minReacting to news that the government is to review air passenger duty, Friends of the Earth aviation campaigner Jenny Bates said:
“Any review of air passenger duty that leads to cheaper air travel and more polluting flights, would be a complete scandal - and rip apart Boris Johnson’s pledge to show leadership on the climate crisis.
“Instead, the chancellor must use his next Budget to speed up the transformation to a zero-carbon economy, make rail travel better and more affordable, and make the aviation industry play its part. We are dealing with a climate emergency and no section of industry or government should be allowed to act otherwise.”
