Corporate volunteering to bring back nature

An urban space with a paving-slab floor and a concrete building surrounded by plants and small trees, with a picnic bench in the middle

Across England and Wales, our Postcode Gardener projects are helping communities make their streets greener and healthier. Alongside our partner The Co-operative Bank, we’re aiming to transform over 1,000 nature-deprived spaces.

The projects are all about getting people outdoors and working together – from planting flowers and food to making havens for wildlife. And you can help too through corporate volunteering days with our delivery partners.

Postcode Gardener corporate volunteering days are the perfect way to combine hands-on team building with environmental impact. And with your support, projects up and down the country can not only bring back nature but also improve the health and wellbeing of communities.

How your organisation will benefit

Your organisation can help green a community space while also achieving your corporate targets. With volunteering days, you can:

  • Work towards your sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals
  • Attract and retain staff
  • Improve team collaboration and productivity
  • Strengthen connections in your community
  • Support your company’s values.

What corporate volunteering involves

Activities – such as planting trees and surveying pollinators – will depend on the season and the project. But with all volunteering days, your staff can expect:

  • Hands-on activities to restore nature
  • A chance to give back to the community
  • Enhanced wellbeing and mental health
  • Learning and growth opportunities
  • Team collaboration and fun.

Yesterday was very enjoyable. The team were welcoming, supportive and encouraging. They were also very knowledgeable about the trees and flowers within the park and passed this knowledge on to all of us.
